ChefOS ยท Closed Trial

Privacy & Terms

Last updated 13 July 2026

Where this stands right now: ChefOS is in an early, invite-only trial. This page describes how we actually handle things today, in plain language. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet โ€” treat it as an honest description of current practice, not a polished legal contract. If anything here matters to you (especially the Working Time / attendance data section below), ask directly using the feedback button in the app.

What ChefOS is, right now

ChefOS is a kitchen management tool (recipes, prep checklists, ingredient pricing, staff scheduling and time tracking) being tested with a small number of invited kitchens before any public or paid launch. Your kitchen's data is only visible to people you've invited into your kitchen's team โ€” it is not shared with other kitchens using ChefOS.

What data we collect

Account & login

Your email address, used only to send you a one-time sign-in code. We don't ask for or store a password.

What you put into the app

Recipes, ingredient prices, prep checklist entries, order lists, and anything else you or your team type into ChefOS, stored so your kitchen can see and use it.

Working Time (attendance)

If your kitchen uses the Working Time feature, it records check-in/check-out times, breaks, and any notes a team member adds to a day. This is genuine employee attendance data. Under Swiss data protection law (nDSG) and similar rules elsewhere, this kind of data deserves extra care:

Basic usage data

We log logins and which parts of the app get opened (not what you do inside them) so we can tell whether the trial is actually being used, and we log JavaScript errors (technical details only โ€” page, browser, error message) so bugs can be fixed. Both are visible only to the ChefOS team, never sold or shared.

AI features

Features like Chef's Assistant or photo-scanning a recipe send the relevant text or image to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. That request goes through ChefOS's own server โ€” your Anthropic API key (if you've set one) is never exposed to other users or stored in the app you can see in your browser.

Who can see your kitchen's data

Only people who've joined your kitchen's team (via an invite link or QR code you control). The ChefOS team (currently a single founder) can access data to fix bugs, run migrations, or provide support โ€” never to read your recipes or attendance data for any other reason.

Where data lives

ChefOS runs on Supabase (a hosted Postgres database provider) with servers in the EU. Nothing is stored on individual devices beyond what your browser needs to display the page.

Your choices

What might change

Because this is an early trial, this page and the product itself will change as ChefOS moves toward a real launch โ€” including a proper legal review of these terms before any public release. If something material changes for you specifically (like new AI data handling), we'll tell you directly, not just quietly update this page.

Questions or requests

Use the feedback button in the app, or reply to any ChefOS email.
